Poker and poker players
Poker is a game of incomplete information. People wager money, sometimes a whole lot of money, that their ability to interpret incomplete information is better than the next person’s. Nonetheless, collectively poker players (at least those who inhabit Poker World) do a miserable job of reading between the lines.

So true.
They are obviously more interested in juicy gossip than in the truth. For example, it’s a known fact that a number of 2+2ers visit my blog regularly and try to read between the lines. But how many email me and just ask me? Virtually none. I get more emails from people saying “sorry” or “What so-and-so did wasn’t right…” than “what happened when __?” or “Is there a history between you and __?”
Lots of them like drama and like to rile people up. I think their “style of poker” is to put their opponents on tilt and win by their opponents’ anger-induced bad decisions. They’re interested in manipulation more than in cards, numbers, theory, or math.
But whatever…

Hi
Where is Poker world?
Is it in America?
If so it should move to somewhere where
1. Winnings aren’t taxed
2. Playing Online is legal
Can’t help it any excuse to sing the praises of Britain in this regard we don’t have much else to shout about.

PeterL–
Poker World is my designation for a certain large website devoted to poker. It is indeed based in the US, but has an international readership/postership–as you know.
As for your other comments, I agree that online poker should be legal, but I see no reason that net poker winnings should be tax-free.
